Winning and Losing
It's October again and the season is changing very quickly. The boat is cold in the morning and the clothing are getting thicker. This is a favorite time of year for me because it allows me to reflect on a Midwest season gone by and assess the improvements for next year

Fall Crankbaits
The date is September 1st, and the smell of late summer fairs and corn dogs linger. The air crisp, the wind light, these are days to catch fish. The weather conditions change drastically from a week to week, what once seemed a never ending heat wave is giving way to a new season. Fall is my favorite time of the year to catch bass. The season brings many new variables into the summer doldrums. Very quickly the memories of scratched limits two weeks ago is now a frenzy, and every cast may be the next addition to a trophy bag.

7 Quick Tips to a quick bag!
Location - Bass Fishing is not rocket science, yet some days on the water you couldn't convince me it isn't. Fish are finicky, and they relate to their moods. Knowing why a bass is in a certain location is a whole lot more important than many anglers think. Sometimes we just fish spots because we have caught fish in that area before in similar situations and we try again. The kick is when we come up empty and think, "No Fish Here". I have watched pro anglers toss a bait to the same spot 75 times before moving on! Have you done that lately. Anglers fan cast areas and move, tournament bass fishing motivates fast fishing. So with so little time we need to know why the fish are where they are.

Smallmouth Fishing
Smallmouth bass have to be one of the coolest fish ever. I love fishing them all year. They fight like the devil and sometimes are hard as ever to catch. The angle is once you find what they are going for you can duplicate it all over the lake or river.

I recently was fishing for smallmouth on the river testing
